Thanks for the note. The new Ogg Vorbis code will be used in the next GoldWave update.

Re: Loop point editing
There are no plans to support looping. Full support (load and save, seemless point detection, different looping modes, multiple loops, etc.) would add a lot of complexity to GoldWave. There are a number of other programs specially designed for that type of work.

Re: Start playing at end of selection and keep playing?
For (1) GoldWave will continue to play when you move the finish marker, but you have to move the finish marker about 2 second before the playback reaches it otherwise it stops at the old position. GoldWave v5 prebuffers about 2 seconds of audio ahead of the current playback position. A prebuffer set...

Re: Help! Identify the sound format
When opening the file try selecting other attributes, such as 16 bit, u-Law, A-law, etc. to see if you get any clearer results.

Re: Goldwave effects not happening on DVD player
Have you tried saving the maximized file under a different name to avoid any confusion with the original?

Re: Strange problem with playback of files edited for length
My guess is that you have two different files in different folders. The edited file is saved in one folder, but the file opened in WMP, Real, etc. is in a different folder. Or it could be a different file type (the original is an MP3 file while the edited one is a Wave file). Also be sure to close t...

Re: Can I do this with the SDK.
The Plug-in SDK does not allow you to control GoldWave. It only allows plug-ins to be created for handling new file formats or adding new effects or visuals. Unfortunately what you described would not be possible with the SDK or GoldWave (except through manual editing). Chris P.S. Someone from GoldW...

Re: Sine Waves
In case anyone else is wondering, to generate a short tone of 0.250 seconds, you'd use the expression "sin(2*pi*f*t)*(t<0.250)". There is no way to generate different tones in each channel within the evaluator. You'd have to use the Edit | Channel menu to select one channel at a time, then...

Re: improving a recording
I do not know of any way to remove the echo/reverb problem.
Using the Equalizer filter effect to raise the middle bands may bring out the voice a bit more.

Re: Spanning?
GoldWave's Cue Points feature can be use to split a file into equal smaller files (it is time based rather than file size based). There is no easy way to join the files together later. You'd have to copy and past them together.

Re: Novice: recording from radio - various
I'd recommend creating a large file initially (it does not require any storage in v5), then use the Unbounded recording option (press the F11 key, Record tab). You'll be able to see the entire recording and when you stop it, the extra trailing silence is automatically trimmed. If you create a small ...
