Re: [PLEASE HELP] URGENT PLEASE READ!!!!!!

Ever heard of the phrase "garbage in, garbage out"? A cellphone mic is low-fidelity. There's no way to turn your recording into anything listenable. It would be like using an old 1980s video camera to record something then asking someone to remaster it in high-definition. Audio recordings ...

Re: Adjusting volume between channels

Or you can use the MaxMatch feature. MaxMatch will automatically adjust the volume of each channel so that they play back at the same average level.

Re: New Voice Feature - More voices?

Since the actual text-to-speech is a Windows service, you'll have to add additional voices to the Windows service itself.

This link, here, has some Microsoft text-to-speech voices.

Re: Playing A Selection From The Begiining

Ha! I never even paid attention to the default of the yellow button. I've always set my green button to play the selection from the start and the yellow button to play the selection from the start looping ad infinitum. Had I taken a bit of time to think about it, I would have told the OP to just use...

Re: Playing A Selection From The Begiining

Right-clicking the green play button and then selecting "Selection" will solve your problem. IIRC, the default choice is "Cursor" (which does what you described of resuming where it left.) But choosing "Selection" instead will always start playback from the start of the...

Re: Help needed cleaning up audio file

... I am afraid I will damage the file if I mess with it too much. First rule of editing audio: Always retain a copy of the original unedited audio. You should do all of your work on a copy of the file. In this way, It's impossible to damage anything by "mess[ing] with it too much." :-)

Re: NEED ANSWER 2DAY (recording while playing, same time)

I'm not sure what you're describing, but it sounds like you want it to automatically mix what you record over top of the pre-recorded track? In GoldWave, you'll have to manually mix the tracks. So you'll need a "blank" track and your prerecorded track. Press "Record" for the blan...

Re: TimeWarp Creates Rainbarrel and Granularity Noise

I'm assuming that since you are trying to learn play the piece, you want to decrease the tempo as much as possible (which, for a single edit change, would be a 50% decrease in speed.) I personally prefer to use Similarity when I need to change speed. However, I find that using the values that GoldWa...

Re: Spliting two speakers

There comes a new problem. Instead of muting, my analysis task asks for still keeping but lowering speaker B`s voice while pick out speaker A`speaking. I am wondering which item could help me do this :?: If I'm understanding your problem correctly, then to my understanding, the Channel Mixer will e...

Re: Spliting two speakers

Although GoldWave can't automatically tell the difference between Person A and Person B, if you are able to satisfactorily isolate just Person A (using the mute method you described) simple cancellation will bring out Person B. You'll only have to "process" the file once and the rest will ...

Re: Looking for a good hardware setup for recording two people

What I am looking to do is pretty basic. With that said, if it were me , I'd go the stereo-microphone route. Since both people are recorded in a single stereo file, you won't even have to deal with synchronizing multiple audio tracks; it already is sync'ed. And if you don't want to get caught up wi...

Re: Question about trial version download.

Jackson Swag, not to worry, MANY executable files (at least MOST, for me) that you download to install a program are going to give you this error. It's just your computer trying to protect you. But if you know that the source of the executable file is trustworthy (in this case, GoldWave) just ignore...

As far as I know, the temp file is, indeed, in use by GoldWave. As such, it can't be renamed. Maybe try copying the file to another folder; you should be able to rename the new copy.

Re: Match Volume vs. Max Volume

Ahh, I see what you're saying. My guess is that your "unbalanced" sound stems from the human ear not "picking up" the frequencies in the sound spectrum equally. That is, a 20Hz signal at -18dB won't be perceived nearly as loud as a 500Hz signal at -18dB. Lowering the volume of th...
