Chris: It was the original file created in Powertracks. To reiterate: 1. I export a file from PT, and load it into GW, 2. If I edit the file in GW, I can import it back into PT if I use the SAVE command in GW. 3. If I edit the file (OR NOT), I cannot import it back into PT if I use the SAVE AS comma...

If you have a really good soundcard (the onboard chip DOES NOT qualify here, neither do SB Lives, etc) you can record WHAT-U-HEAR with reasonable quality. It all comes down to the A/D and D/A converters in the soundcard (plus the other electronics). But most people don't want to spend upwards of $40...

Robin: Yes, I see what you mean. Goldwave will not play cda files; which seems strange as it loads so many other types of file. I suppose one could always use Windows Media Player to listen to the tracks to determine which ones to rip. Maybe in a future release? PN Edit 13 July 06: Actually Goldwave...

I'm surprised that an electronic piano has more bass than an acoustic - that's often the weak point of digitals. On removing bass, there are three filters you could try under EFFECT | FILTER: 1. Bandpass/stop 2. Low/High Bypass 3. Parametric EQ Right now, I'm experimenting with removing the frequenc...

Perhaps because playing is done in real time and ripping is done quicker, the point on a track from which ripping would be done would be ahead of the point where reading for playing would be done. Then when the first track was still being read for playing, ripping would have to be onto the second tr...

9x300 In order to answer your question, I attempted to save one of my wave files to MPEG, and I couldn't get any bit rate to work!!!!! What I found was this: OPTIONS | FILE FORMAT OPTIONS | select the DEFAULT SAVE FORMAT tab. In the two boxes, select the options you wish to use, and click OK. Now wh...

Stephens: Good points - I would then ask if you noticed this imbalance when listening to the vinyl and before you saw the waves? It seems that you have. We humans are easily influenced (I'm no exception) by things that shouldn't influence us. When I was first starting, I tried to balance the channel...
