Make sure that the track containing the audio is not muted and that you can hear audio when playing the project in Multiquence. To colour certain words you'll need to create copies of the caption section and change the colour of each word in each section by using the Section | Options command. For e...

Re: .asf file sync with Multiquence
Try installing Multiquence v2.52. That version handles WMV/ASF files differently, which may avoid the problem.

Re: 6 months without a new release... is Goldwave dead?
If you'll remember in the previous message, I did have a disclaimer about the calender being used. The Chinese new year is still a few weeks away.
Six months between updates is not that unusual for GoldWave.

Re: CPS- Cycles Per Second
GoldWave does not include a cycles per second counter. The spectrum visual shows frequency data, but it probably won't be useful for low frequency data (such as counting rounds per minute).

The information on freedb is for CDs only and works by looking up the CD's ID. I do not know of any open databases for vinyl records and there is no reliable way to get an ID. It would have to involve some form of music/song recognition or audio fingerprinting technology, which is not in wide use ye...

Re: Questions about "Recording from Audio Cassette Tape
Check to make sure you have the cassette player connected to the conputer's Line in and not the Microphone in. Also try reducing the output volume on the cassette player (if possible). To reduce the input volume in GoldWave, press the F11 key and choose the Volume tab.

Re: What Sampling Rate to use
A 5 minute file with a sampling rate of 8000 Hz saved with PCM 16 bit stereo attributes would be 5 x 60 x 8000 x 4 = 9.6MB. Make sure you delete any trailing silence in the file before saving or use the Edit | Marker | Set command to set start to zero and finish to "5:00", then use Edit | ...

Re-encoding the compressed video may can some quality loss, but it should not be a problem for VCD quality video. Using the MJPEG format or installing and using the DivX format should exceed VCD quality until you make the final conversion.

Re: LARGE FILE/NTFS PROBLEM
Wave files containing compressed audio are required to have a "fact" chunk that tells programs exactly how many samples are in the file. If that chunk is missing, programs have to guess/calculate the number of samples. That calculation in GoldWave is limited to a 32 bit value (or numbers u...

Re: Can't remove clicks
If the zero-crossing option is not working, there may be a large offset in the audio. Try using Effect | Offset then scan the current offset and remove it. Another technique is to use Edit | Paste New to paste the clipboard to a new file, use Effect | Volume | Shape with the "Faded ends" p...

Re: Ripping oggs from my audio CDs
The interface error may occur when another program tries to autoplay or access the CD the moment GoldWave accesses it. You can set the "Sectors to overlap" to zero on the Options tab to ignore most read errors, but you may not get perfect quality unless your CD drive does error correction ...

Re: Downloading album track info for split wav/mp3 files
There is no way to automatically get the names of songs recorded from an LP. You'd need to enter the name for each song in the cue points after using Auto Cue to mark all the songs, then set the Split File feature to use the cue point name as the file name. You can use the File | Information command...
