Re: Goldwave crashed and took the recording with it
Crashes shouldn't happen at all, even with a 3 hour file. How much memory is in your system? Did the crash occur while saving the file or at some point just before saving the file (when setting attributes, for example)? With SSDs becoming more widely used, hard disk storage likely will be used as th...

Re: non functional
We have also noticed that Microsoft's Media Foundation freezes for a very long time when opening certain audio files. Downloading FFmpeg using Options | Configure VideoMeld and checking the option to use FFmpeg first will avoid that problem.

Re: Save and Close in Batch
The question is why are you opening the files manually? You can just add them directly to the Batch Processing list (use "Files and folders" instead of "All Open Windows") and let Batch Processing open, process, and save them. You can use the "Add Folder" button and jus...

Re: option to tile windows in different order ?
I understand. However that is the way Windows arranges things. It's been that way for a long time.
Also you may want to use the Tool | Compare Files for a quick way to compare two similar files.

Re: Save and Close in Batch
Are several tracks included in a single (album) file? The Cue Points tool and the Split File feature can be used to split a file into separate tracks. That would allow you to process all the tracks through Batch Processing, which would open, process, and save the files. However there is no way to us...

Re: option to tile windows in different order ?
File test1.mp3 is opened and active, then test2.mp3 is opened and active. The active window is at the top, as it should be. I don't think it would be a good idea to put the non-active window at the top when organizing windows. That would put the file you are currently working on at the bottom, which...

Re: option to tile windows in different order ?
Ideally the order that you select them for opening would match the order that they are opened. Unfortunately Microsoft's Open File dialog changes the order as you select them. There does not seem to be any way to override that.

Re: non functional
Try turning on the "Debug mode" under Options | Configure VideoMeld to see if that helps track down the problem. Using the "DirectX software emulation mode" may help too.

Re: Batch jobs save/restore for a new PC
You can use "GoldWave Setup" from the Windows Start menu. That has an option to backup and restore all settings.
Another option is to search for the GoldWave.xml file and copy it to the same folder on the new computer.

We'll look into adding very long name support to the FLAC plug-in.

Re: Warning: No CUE POINT at beginning of file
The warning won't be displayed if the first cue is within 0.25 seconds of the beginning. Maybe we can add a setting for ignoring leading silence. A "do not show again" option would require adding another setting to change that option later, but it could be done. Another option may be to us...

Re: option to tile windows in different order ?
When tiling windows, the active window is always first. The sorting follows the activation order. The currently active window is first, then the next most recently active window is next, etc.

Re: FLAC with long filename (or full path) are detected as RAW
The FLAC plug-in does not include the Windows work-around needed to support very long files names. Maybe it is time to add it. Would you consider your use-case common, or is it unique?
