Unless you're using ASIO or a WASAPI exclusive mode Windows resamples the audio to a default rate you set in device properties for your sound card. Goldwave defaults to WASAPI Shared mode. You're never going to get a higher effective sample rate than what the audio card/chip/interface can handle. If you play the entire file, then the red peak line shows the peak frequencies for the entire file. However that is different than performing a spectrum analysis of the entire file. v6.29 had an issue with MP3 files, which was corrected within 24 hours and v6.30 was released to replace it. thank yo...

Have you tried the Spectrum visual in GoldWave? It has peak and average lines, plus it shows the numerical values when you move the mouse over the visual.
