I recorded a stereo cassette to computer, but it only came in one channel, but with music and voice.
I have the cassette so I could re-record it.
I believe the mono can be converted to stereo, but how well does that work.
Stereo Recorded Only on One Channel
Re: Stereo Recorded Only on One Channel
Check to make sure you aren't using a mono plug for recording before you do anything else. If you are using a mono plug, you'll need to re-record everything using a stereo plug to fix your problem. And converting the mono file to stereo won't make the mono computer recording sound like your stereo source tape.
There have to be a number of differences in the left and right channels of an audio file to achieve a stereo effect, and you're talking about using two perfectly identical pieces of audio in both the right and the left channels for your final, two-channel file. You'll get what's called "dual-mono" in that instance, and it will sound just like a one-channel file. In other words, there won't be the improvement in sound that you're looking for.

I don't want to read the manual either, but, then, it isn't my problem, is it?
