GoldWave Inc.

Hey all.

Been trialling GoldWave for the past few days and found a possible bug. I've tried looking for similar reports but all seem to be user error.

The problem is if I switch to Tabs view and try zooming in/out with the mouse wheel nothing happens yet it works fine if I switch to one of the others Auto-tile etc.
I've tried on two separate machines with Windows 10 and 7, both exhibit the same issue.

Anyone else had this?

Yeah, I think I've had the same problem. I used to think the scroll problem was caused by changing themes. I'm beginning to think otherwise. Thing is, "tabs" is the only display format I like, so I simply won't use GoldWave if I can't use a tabbed display.

I cannot duplicate the problem on any system so far. What mouse do you have? Is there anything unusual about your computer?

Me too. I just tried this on three laptops now and the same thing again. Mouse wheel on three devices is a "Genius" and one laptop has a Microsoft wireless mobile mouse 1000. Desktop PC System is Win 10 pro. Processor Intel i52400 @3.1 Ghz. 8 gig Ram, 64 bit. It was all Ok up to the (I think) V6.40 release. Not really a big deal, I just do not use the Tabs option for now.

I've been using a Gigabyte Krypton mouse for the past 4 years. I remember trying GoldWave sometime ago, around v6.35 with the same mouse and no issues.
What would you consider an unusual system?

I'm using the following:
CPU: 9900KF
Motherboard: MSI Z390 MEG ace
RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200MHz

I have just tried installing v6.35 and mouse wheel works fine in Tabs view.

Past few days I have been doing some testing and I have found what ever broken was after version 6.35.
I have asked various friends and family to participate and all have come to the same conclusion with the same results.
Whilst I do accept this is a minor annoyance it is one that I can foresee interfering with my work flow pattern. I just prefer working in Tabs.

I am seriously considering going with GoldWave as I love it's overall design, features and simplicity to use however as various people have pointed out that Audacity offers a very similar function.

I might check in again with future versions to see if this has been fixed.

I found a system where the wheel wasn't working and was able to track down the cause. Why it works on some systems and not others is a mystery, but the next update should fix it in any case.

I can also confirm this was fixed in my trial of version 6.47.
I will be buying a licence in the coming days.
