It's been a long while since I used my registered version and so found myself a bit daunted on trying a very basic task. I have a recording from an online radio station (made with Tapin Radio). I want to delete the last couple of seconds of track #1, which overlaps slightly with track #2, and then fade in track #2. What are the steps for doing that quickly please?

I'll then have to do that at subsequent overlaps.

So you want track #1 to end abruptly, but you want track #2 to fade in gradually?

Tristan: The two are originally cross-faded in my recording. So I opted to cut abruptly when track #1 is no longer audible. But I'm glad you prompted a rethink, because the situation is reversed at the end of track #2. So it would be preferable to have a symmetrical fade out/fade in, with a tiny gap to make isolation easier.

I don't know if this matters, but you can shift tracks relative to each other, in the time domain, in Audacity. I may be wrong, but I don't think you can do it in Goldwave. At least I've never tried it.

There must be a simple way to do this familiar task!

You are right about being able to do in your video editor. I do the same thing with Videomeld because you cannot do it easily in Goldwave. Does not take much time to and does not destroy the originals either.
