Master Project Settings

Post by NonWally »

I have a small project that I wish to incorporate into larger projects, however merging the tracks together, given the effects and sound levels etc, is a bit messy, so I have the idea of creating a project "A" as a subproject to be inserted into projects "B" & "C" etc. That way I end up with 1 video track & 1 audio track to be inserted.

The question is what are the recommended settings for project A that will be best suited to be inserted into projects "B" etc.

AVI or WMV or MOV ?

Should the frame rate be the same as project B, or double?

I understand that the audio should be the highest quality.

Thanks

Ideally you'd want to keep the frame rate and resolution consistent between projects. The file type doesn't matter as much as the encoder settings. You'll need to use a high bitrate to minimize the quality lost during encoding.

Note that you can copy and paste one project into another (open project A, Copy, open project B, Paste). That would give better quality because you'll be working with the original files rather than re-encoded copies. If you create enough blank tracks, you can paste without affect sections in project B.
