does goldwave support AAC/MP4 files?

No, it doesn't. It is possible to burn Audio CD's from AAC files with iTunes.exe, and then rip the CD to WAV files.

Try searching on
Google for a DirectShow AAC filter for Windows Media Player. That may allow GoldWave to open some AAC files.

player foobar2000 ( freeware) has been contvert any audio format to wav.
Nero digital Audio are good supported in foobar

Goldwave has changed, since this original post. Now, it opens *.m4a files.

Can we save as mp4? Will there be an update with mp4 saving ability?

Recent versions of GoldWave support saving MPEG 4 audio (M4A) files on Windows 7 or later.
