Automated Scheduled Recording and Saving?

Post by noexit »

What a wonderful discovery it was to find that I can call up goldwave via command line with the /new and /record switches to automatically start recording. I record a weekly Jazz show which I consider to be the best Jazz radio show in the world (wabe.org H. Johnson's Jazz Classics Sat 9am-2am EST). Every Saturday night I rush home to start up Goldwave and begin my weekly recording before 9pm. I create a 6 hour MP3 file that I then listen to the rest of the week. And now I can just schedule and automated batch file to call up and begin recording.

So, how can I take it the next step and automatically save the file after recording completes? Is it also possible to save it with a given file name sequence for example JazzClassics-%year% %Month% %Day% ?

There's an Auto Save option in GoldWave. Press F11 and choose the Record tab to set it. The "/new" command line parameter allow you to specify the file name too. See the manual for details.
