Reverse Duration function in "Silence Reduction"

Post by Zimond »

Hi there. :)

I want to remove tiny silences in an audio file. But only the very short ones (it is game footage of an emulated game and these tiny silences are stutters when the game ran slightly to slow so the audio got holes)

The "Silence Reduction" function plus a pop/click filter gets me a decent result but this also removes all legitimate longer silences.
(I am aware that shorteing the audio will make the video out of sync to the audio but I think if the length of all the tiny removed gaps is short enough and by changing the length of the video it should be OK enough)

So what I need would be a reverse "duration" option. So that only silences UNDER a certain length are processed not ABOVE.

Is there anyway to achieve this? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately there is no easy way to do that in GoldWave. If the stutters are in certain sections in the file only, then you can select each section and use the Silence Reduction filter so that other silences are not removed.
